COVID precautions:

We've been running since mid-May, but I recently realized that we hadn't updated the website with a summary of the precautions we have taken at the office.  While there is never a complete elimination of risk, we are following all governmental guidelines for safe operation and have adopted several additional measures as well.

Starting back again

We have received authorization from the public health department to begin re-opening the office for preventive care.  This means we can do cleanings and restorative work that have previously been delayed.  If you are already on the schedule for a cleaning we will contact you to confirm that you would still like to come and be sure of the time.  In some cases we may need to move your appointment slightly to accommodate social distancing between patients in the office and hope you will be patient with us during this process.  Naz and Ellen will be reaching out to patients whose appointments were missed to try and slot you in ...

No appointments until you hear otherwise.

OK, so I had mentioned on the voicemail and prior website entries that anybody with an appointment in the first 2 weeks of April we would assume those appointments are cancelled.  Well now it's getting into the second week of April so I figure I ought to make an announcement for 2nd part of April and beyond.  Having checked the guidance from the California Dental Association and a new dental specific release from the California Department of Public Health and to avoid confusion from having to continually update which appointments are cancelled and which are not I am opting to cancel all appointments until further notice.  In practice, ...

When we will reopen?

Unfortunately I just don't know the answer to this question (wish I did).  I suspect there will be some changes to the infection control protocols that will need to be agreed upon and published (supposedly there will be new OSHA guidance released toward the end of April) AND as you know there is a severe shortage of N95 respirators and surgical masks at this point.  I suspect that there is a low probability that we'll be open for normal treatment before the end of April.  If you have an appointment in the first 2 weeks of April, please just consider it cancelled at this point unless you hear from me ...
