Are regular x-rays dangerous?
Digital X-Rays Make A Difference
The radiation levels emitted by a typical x-ray are low and are generally considered to be safe by the medical community and numerous studies. However, radiation exposure is cumulative, and over time, even low doses of radiation build up in the body and could eventually cause damage at the cellular level. This is especially true for those who work around x-rays and are continuously exposed to them, even accidentally.
Our office uses digital x-rays, which significantly reduce the amount of radiation used with each x-ray to allow for much less radiation accumulation. Your health and safety are important to Dr. Maher.
